Any fan of three part harmonies over major chords with a positive message in the lyrics will also be a fan of “While I’m Young”

Fourth release from Madelen’s Request is a fun pop sounding folk-rock song.  I can pull out tones I’ve heard from bands ranging Grateful Dead to Fleetwood Mac.  Any fan of three part harmonies over major chords with a positive message in the lyrics will also be a fan of “While I’m Young”.  Well calculated throughout the song builds into a tasteful solo at the two minute mark.  To me this song is an encouragement to keep pushing with blogging and music so that hopefully sooner than later I’ll be able to enjoy my youth and travel to new and exciting places.  This song goes nicely with an article I was reading this morning about how more and more young people are quitting their well paying jobs in pursuit of a twenty year old dream of backpacking and traveling around the world.

“Madelen’s Request is a folk rock group from Oslo, Norway. Inspired by the music of the 1960s frontman Aleksander brought them together in late 2016. With several talented vocalists who take turns singing the lead and often gather in beautiful, true-to-tradition harmonies, the bands sound is versatile yet clearly grounded in folk and Americana.

Songwriters Jonas and Aleksander craft the lyrics and melody with careful precision while guitarist Marius and drummer Daniel add a fresh and modern approach in the arrangements.

The band released the self-produced EP Four Starters in Oktober 2017, and are currently releasing new material.”
