With guitar tones reminiscent of Mac Demarco and licks that are cool and controlled and a washy ride cymbal you get Sealife. The vocals take a more commanding approach then other indie atmospheric acts do when singing about a two night stand. The guitar panned far right is infection and I love the way that when the verse hits the guitars take a step inward and mirror each other on both sides of the headphones. Although on the far right there is an occasional diamond chord or rhythmic pattern or little piano gem to keep the listeners entertained. “2 Night Stand” is lengthy enough that you can put it on and chill and then be pleasantly surprised by the bouncy first outro into the harpsichord final outro.
“Sealife brings a love-coated psychedelic chill wave from Seattle straight to your heart. Sealife’s debut album, A Paler Shade of White, is art imitating life; a chronological documentation of emotional renaissance. Look Up Records is proud to present Sealife, our newly signed artist. Sealife is a project led by Brennan Moring, who also plays in Seattle-based psych poppers Peyote Ugly. His single “Breaking Up Together” will be released globally through Look Up Records on Sept 3, 2018, and the album A Paler Shade of White will be released on Sept 24, 2018. The music video for Breaking Up Together is here on YouTube.”
