Chugging along is “17” by Big Society. The song features youthful lyrics about heartache of not being wanted. “17” carries gritty guitars and heavy compressed drums. The thing that attracts me most to “17” by Big Society is the guitar tones and the fact that this band is standing up to industry trends in a way that seems almost apathetic and that is just plain cool. Comparable to other U.K. rockers such as Peace or The Verve but even those seems like a bit of a stretch, Big Society is doing their own thing and I hope they keep doing their own thing because it isn’t totally mainstream rock but it is close enough, I’m really looking forward to their next single!
“MANCHESTER’S BIG SOCIETY MELT THE SLEAZY AND THE TENDER TOGETHER ON DEBUT SINGLE ‘17’ – DIY Magazine
With a sound veering from hook laden riffs, to harmony driven melodies, Big Society emerge from the north of the United Kingdom as a four piece guitar band with few similarities to any of their contemporaries. Choosing to self produce their first singles, 17 is about being ”young, foolish, naive and knackered”
New music will follow their debut single later in 2018 early/2019.”
