Featuring a standard rock instrumentation of two guitars, bass, drums, and enthusiastic vocals “Magic” by Mac Murray is a song to get you pumped. The song bursts with youthful angst and a soaring vocal performance that pushes the song into new levels of dynamics that sets it apart from a lot of new independent music coming out. The drums play eighth note before the third beat of each measure which gives the song a pulse that is as urgent as the vocals and guitar work going on simultaneously. “Magic” is a bit of a shapeshifter the way it started I thought I was going to be listening to a song more reminiscent of Two Door Cinema Club and was excited to hear that it became much more of an aggressive rock song. While this article only focuses on the song “Magic” the tune was released among five others as an EP see attached below with artist biography.
