Hailing from Portugal Niki Moss is a true artist not conforming to many if any standards of popular songwriting. With that said his newest tune “There Must Be Something In The Water” is a strange piece that is both thrashing and delicate with pad synth chords and jazzy yet rock drums. The production is authentic and organic sounding which makes for a unique experience when pieces of the song happen that abandon any sort of convention to stray into abnormal rhythmic patterns only to come back in for a main hook on a distorted guitar that repeats itself as a motif throughout “There Must Be Something In The Water”. Definitely a good listen for anyone who appreciates artistic integrity and is looking for something out of left field.
“Niki Moss is Miguel Vilhena’s alter ego, a multi-instrumentalist, founder of the label “pontiaq”, lead vocalist of the psychedelic rock band “Savanna” and producer of various Portuguese indie bands. From now on we will get acquainted with his work as a solo artist.
Following the release of his successful debut single, Niki Moss returns with new tune ‘There Must Be Something In The Water’ after having recently signed with UK label Street Mission Records (distributed by [PIAS]) and Pontiaq.
Upon announcing his return, he is also happy to announce the title of his debut album, ‘Gooey’, which is slated for release early 2019.
Niki Moss has a history of involving himself in what he believes are quality, experimental and exciting projects and hopes that his own solo material will be no different.”
