Slightly washed out and highly emotional is “Home” by The Ollie West Band.  The arrangement is lush in instrumentation and the legato strings create a sense of childlike wonder within the composition.  The compositors of “Home” by The Ollie West Band have said they have taken new direction by drawing influence from Debussy and Ravel.  “Home”s arrangement truly takes the listener on a journey far away from home and then suddenly you’re back in the comfort of your own living room.  Cinematic and epic is “Home” by The Ollie West Band.  Please see attached artist biography below.  Really looking forward to what comes next from this extraordinary ensemble.

“The Ollie West Band are a 4 to 24 piece ensemble, creating cinematic, orchestral pop compared to a blend between Billy Joel, Elbow and Jamie Cullum. Recognised by the likes of Neil McCormick and Dean Friedman, the band continue to build from strength to strength and develop their success with innovative ideas, memorable performances and, best of all, great soulful music.

Formed 5 years ago from the desire to expand a solo project, singer, songwriter, pianist and arranger Ollie West has been crafting the bands unique sound to help find their place within the every changing music industry. This time and graft accumulated in a support slot at the RNCM Theatre in 2017 where the band performed an orchestral show with a 24 piece line up; not a small feat for then 19 year old Ollie West, who wrote, arranged and organised the show. Since then, the band tour as an 8 piece with their full time string quartet, who have become an integral part of their sound. Ollie’s songwriting shows sophistication and maturity, and consistently blends pop, jazz and classical genres to carry a distinctive style of piano based writing with catchy melodies and intriguing harmony.

The band released a live album from their sold out support slot for the RNCM Session Orchestra with their 24 piece line up in August 2017, and spent the beginning of 2018 on a nationwide tour to promote their debut EP “We Watch The World Turning”. They release their new single, “Home”, on Friday 12th October.”
