You won’t be surprised to read that this artist is on Brushfire Records, Jack Johnsons record label. This adorable music video coupled with a tender and soft tune of “No Depression” by Bahamas. The song is about over medication and social anxiety in the modern age. The video however is a wonderful juxtaposition where a puppet enjoys a peaceful day in the wilderness splitting wood, playing guitar by a lake, and observing nature. The lyrics start as quite the downer but ascend into a more positive state where the singer admits that he is seeing some progression and the video ends with Bahamas roasting weenies with his puppet friend. I love songs that remind us to take a step back and observe our own behaviors in life in order to better ourselves. The arrangement is similar to a Jack Johnson tune with a skillful guitar that doesn’t overplay supporting a soft male vocal lead and a relaxing groove. Bahamas is someone you invite to a campfire and ask them to bring their guitar. Attached below is a press release with tour dates and more links! I thoroughly hope you enjoy “No Depression” by Bahamas.
