Gothic Tropic “Your Soul”

A dramatic introduction to a music video if I’ve ever seen one.  Synthesizers and pumping four on the floor stomping drums set the Los Angeles scene (or at least it looks like echo park to me).  Bottles of Jameson in the background as the protagonist wanders through a party that maybe he shouldn’t be at while the half time chorus refrain of “I Know Your Soul” repeats through your headphones.  Suddenly after the first refrain the floor drops out and the bass goes a little deeper as the vocalist admits she wants to be your pain and pleasure.  The refrain hits a second time as I’m pretty sure the world is about to end and then just as you see the sun expanding in the characters eyes the song is over and the credits role.  “Your Soul” is as much a short art film as it is a catchy indie song.  I’d highly recommend “Your Soul” to fans of Beach House, Charli XCX, and Haim.  Please find out more about the artist as well as stream the video below!

Reaching out about LA indie pop/rock Gothic Tropic (aka Cecilia Della Peruti) who has a brand new sci-fi inspired video for her power pop single “Your Soul” off her debut record ‘Fast or Feast’ that she premiered today via PAPER Magazine. Della Peruti cut her teeth as a multi-instrumentalist touring player for Beck, Børns, Charli XCX, and more before releasing her debut LP (recorded by Devendra Banhart and Feist) last year on Old Flame Records.
