Fathers “PRTND”

Fathers latest release “PRTND” is a tune that builds from a minimalistic and vulnerable arrangement into a powerful and lush sound.  The song is ambient in nature and contains influence that fans of Bon Iver, Sigur Ros, or Sufjan Stevens might really enjoy.  Layers of vocals that have been run through filters and delays create a sonic quality similar to a telephone conversation.  Stream it from Soundcloud below and learn more about Fathers..

Fathers independently produced and recorded ‘High Horses’ in Storz’ home studio and a local yoga space. According to Storz, “Overseeing the recording and mixing process allowed me to have a more intimate connection with the music. I felt freer to try to new things, or, more importantly, to abandon the things I’d done before.”

What emerged are orchestral arrangements that reflect equal parts zen and disquiet. Their melodies build from interwoven keys, vibraphone, glockenspiel, timpani, strings, and horns paired with dynamic vocals that balance delicacy and power.
