A recent release that sparked interest was “Forest Through The Trees” from Peyton Stilling. “Forest Through the Trees” by Peyton Stilling was chilling because of the way the vocals intertwined with the instrumentals. This really captured my attention because the lyrical content used a well known saying that through darker timbres and harmonic choices really brought me into the landscape described. “Forest Through The Trees” is for fans of singer-songwriter pop and invokes a sense of dreamy urgency.
Recently Peyton Stilling has been working hard on her live performances throughout Texas. Check out an embedded stream of “Forest Through the Trees” by Peyton Stilling below and learn more about her!
FROM THE ARTIST:
Peyton Stilling has a story to tell–and the powerful voice to tell it. The 18-year-old singer-songwriter from Plano, Texas was an avid poet before she ever strummed a chord, but her life changed forever the moment she stepped on stage at the age of 12.
“After that night of performing on stage, I knew that was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life,” she says.
Six years later, Peyton is carving out a niche as a must-see singer-songwriter in the vein of Norah Jones, Carole King, John Mayer and Lianne La Havas. Like those artists, Peyton is a talented singer with a story to tell. Her seamless blend of soulful vocals and heartrending lyrics creates can’t-miss music. After her mother’s cancer diagnosis, young Peyton leaned on the power of music to pull her through. Now, she’s hoping that her music can be that uplifting force for someone else. Peyton is motivated by telling stories that speak to her listeners.
She’s lifted up audiences across Texas–and shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon. Peyton has previously played Lava Cantina in The Colony, Wildflower Festival and will be a regular performer at The Rustic in 2019. She looks forward to future shows as she releases her first single in February.
“Music has been a blessing in my life in ways I can’t even describe,” she says. “It gives me the opportunity to write and perform songs that truly connect with others.”
